Words, wisdom and occasional cynicism from Tylee Leighton

I don’t know about other real estate agents but as Arizona continues to garner bad press over the Immigration Law I have to admit I feel like it has had a negative impact on my business.  In the last week two potential relocation clients from more progressive/liberal states have contacted me telling me they are no longer interested in relocating to Arizona.  The message was clear, they didn’t feel the state was a good fit for them anymore.

Beyond boycotts and loss of tourism dollars, this law has impacted how people who were considering moving to this state feel about that decision.  They are questioning it.  They are saying “mmmm…no.”

So I understand that the real estate market is being impacted by this law and it doesn’t matter on what side of this issue you fall – we don’t need things that hurt the Arizona economy any more than it is hurt by the recession.  And as a real estate professional, I don’t need anymore hurdles than I already have!
